Hy Kristian

You now have an account on macfarhi (my computer) which is Redhat Linux
for PPC
Linux macfarhi 2.2.10 #1 Sun Aug 22 15:27:56
EDT 1999 ppc unknown
Your account is nielsen, without password yet. Access from grill seems
ok.
I am putting on this account the archives and extracted stuff as I
used it for installation.
mcstas is installed in /usr/local/bin and lib.

Have fun !!

To reproduce the error messages in PGPERL, just type make test...

Well, I would really like to aolve this problem; a lot of our users
experience this. Could you give me an account on the machine on which
you have the problems so that I could check out the problem directly?
I
already have an account on grill (or whatever) to get through the ILL
firewall, and I should be able to do without root access in case that
would be a problem.

I did solve a similar problem on Suse Linux using an account in Germany,
and it would be really nice to have this working on RedHat also.

Regarding the 4D ellipsoid, I was not sure if you were refering to the
production of the simulation data or the visualization? The simulation
is described briefly in our ECNS paper, of which I can send you a copy
if you like. The visualization is produced using PDL's 3D graphics
primitives. Basically, we do a russian roulette to eliminate the neutron
weight from the Monte Carlo simulation and plot the points as a function
of Qx, Qy, and omega. I am currently in Oxford on a vt300 terminal
and
so I do not have easy access to the graphics of McStas, however I will
get back to you when I return late next week. I would be happy to send
you the code that produced the graphics Kim showed you; also this code
will likely be included in the next release of McStas.
