Hello,

I'm now trying to install McStas at ILL, in order to try it and compare with our own tools. But I've got problems to compile it.

The machine is an HP BiProcessor, with HP-UX.
HOSTTYPE=hp9000s800

the .configure step is the following

% ./configure --prefix=/home/tas/farhi

loading cache ./config.cache
checking for gcc... (cached) gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no
checking whether we are using GNU C... (cached) yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... (cached) no
checking for a BSD compatible install... (cached) /opt/imake/bin/install -c
checking for perl... (cached) /usr/contrib/bin/perl
checking for gcc option to accept ANSI C... (cached) -DCC_HAS_PROTOS
creating ./config.status
creating Makefile

But an error occurs at compilation :

% make install

        ./mkinstalldirs /home/tas/farhi/bin /home/tas/farhi/lib /home/tas/farhi/lib/mcstas
        gcc -I. -I. -c -O2 -DMC_SYS_DIR='"'/home/tas/farhi/lib/mcstas'"' -DCC_HAS_PROTOS=1 -DDEBUG=0 instrument.tab.c

as: "/var/tmp/cca12321.s", line 2979: error 1052: Directive name not recognized - PARAM
*** Error exit code 1

Stop.

What can be done ? or perhaps you already have compiled versions for HP ?

Thanks...
Emmanuel Farhi.
